A Picture Is Worth 1000 Words - Kas Stone
I am so excited to have photographic artist, Kas Stone, to come and speak to the community about her work. When I saw her pictures I knew they would be something the community would enjoy! Kas is frequently asked 'are they pictures or paintings' which is why she calls them 'photographic art' They are her personal interpretation of reality!
About the Talk
We all know the expression “a picture is worth a thousand words.” Words and images are two different ways of telling stories and expressing our feelings about a subject. One appeals visually, the other linguistically, to different areas of our brains to get their message across. However when words and images are used effectively together – pairing a compelling photograph with a clever title or interesting backstory – their impact can be truly inspiring.
In this thought-provoking presentation, professional photographer and author Kas Stone explores the connection between words and images, the arguments for and against using them together, and she will offer tips and exercises to help you create effective titles for your images.
